Like the Voortrekkers before us, our family has travelled far - from the Kalahari in South Africa to the shores of Western Scotland, in the Highlands of Argyll.
Here we have found a shared love of local produce, a pride of all things Scotland and a hunger for properly made biltong - nothing commercial and mass-produced, just locally sourced beef and hand-crafted cuts of cured, air-dried meat. We are Highland Biltong!
Most of the time, biltong is a snack which lasts about as long as it takes to tune in to the rugby, pour a drink and settle down with friends and family, so multiple packets are advised!
Biltong lends a whole new pizzazz to cooking as it blends well with any flavours, from salad to strawberries, to the good old, toasted cheese sandwich and beyond.
